  I am so glad to hear he survived, and that he has you for support! It's totally wrong for good people to have to try to sort thru this "cognitive dissonance" or "ambient abuse" or "gaslighting"... where not only do you have no money, but where is your support system that you use to think the most of? Where did it go? Your 'brothers that you would die for'? Gone in a flash.....

  I have met many people with different experiences, but they have the same type of feelings of disappointment and confusion as to 'what in the world is happening? this is suppose to be God's organization?'

  I met all kinds of nice people, empathetic, warm, loving, caring people in S Lake Tahoe at the Apostafest! I think all the caring people have to leave, they can't take the hypocrisy. Caring people won't defend what is wrong, caring people have a need to support truth... real truth. Your comment reminded me of a saying on one of my husband's T-shirts:

  "Don't believe everything you hear"

  "Real Eyes"

  "Realize"

  "Real Lies"

  May I ask, how did you find this thread? ... again, Welcome!

  To DA or not to DA, that is the question?

  let me preface this by saying that i don't expect anyone here to make my decision for me.

  i do however note that like the bible says, in the multitude of counselors there is wisdom, and this is a huge decision, so i wanted to put it out there for discussion.

  i really appreciate your words of wisdom, as this affects not just me but my wife also, as we find ourselves in the same boat.

  Hard choice.... my husband was DF'd for telling the truth... so was one of my kids... the other? kind of DA'd themself... unfortunately, they wrote the Society in all good heartedness, then was DF'd by the locals. I wasn't DF'd, and decided not to DA myself.... I don't want to give them any notion that I care about what they say... I don't want to give them a 'letter', and I hope I can POSSIBLY help others. Some of my fam are still in, and though they don't really talk to me much (even when I was still in, they had the hamster wheel to run) I might have a better chance to talk with them if I am not DF'd... Maybe not, but I want to give the WT no "recognition"

  Demoted from elder to MS, anybody ever heard of this?

  so a friend in a nearby hall told me their co came through, and in a hellish week of long meetings and inquisition overhauled the boe.

  only one remains as elder, three were re-appointed as ms, and one, the cobe was deleted entirely.. two new elders were brought in as new secretary and cobe / watchtower conductor, respectively, and introduced to the congregation from the platform on sunday immediately following his second talk.

  he reminded everybody of the authority he has and then named the new appointees.

  I have seen things change up in cases where there has been child abuse in a congregation... has this happened?

  Or, maybe disagreement in selling the Kingdom Hall? or "remodeling"? and taking out a loan?

  If the elders do not go along with the plan, are willing to speak up or 'tell the truth', it is easy to make the deletions, and move the new crew in...

  Thank you..... ALL of you ex-Beth-hell-ites, for surviving, for telling your life experiences, for not letting the evil overtake you. When other people can see that it is not a 'one time deal'. a 'local.. "Jehovah will take care of him" situation.... it helps the rest of us survive.

  That is the "way the Watchtower dog hunts." Like an abusive relationship, they ask the most of you, accuse you of the worst... belittle you... devalue you... make it all "your fault", and then? ask you why you are upset!

  So sorry, life is too short, I really do believe what happened to you, I have experienced such things myself when working on assembly hall builds. Some people are just like the WTS, trying to downplay all the personal, monetary sacrifices that people truly have made. Good point about the "ones who supervise," as in "do they get their hands dirty? work hard?" The people from Beth-Hell, that 'supervised' at the build, always had 'breakfast & their daily text' while all the good, honest-hearted, giving people, who woke up early, drove 2 hours to get there, were outside working hard.... giving their "all."

  The GB get their airplane tickets paid, suits bought and tailored for them, meals, deals, hotel rooms.... They are certainly NOT "tent makers"... They are the "rent takers"!

  My sister had a great idea: HIre a hacker that could get access to all the Watchtower's files, so everyone could see behind the scenes as to what the WT really is. What bonds, what stocks, list of pedophiles, all the dirty secrets it has, then spread it on the internet.
